Friday:
Today we ventured to the Montmarte area of Paris! This is a very beautiful part of the
city that used to be home to many vineyards. The cobblestone streets are alive with the smells of French breads and pasteries! Our first stop in this area was a "Behind the Scenes Tour" of a Boulangerie. (Bakery)

We were welcomed buy a great tour guide and an award winning Chef.  We learned the secrets of the perfect baguette and watched as other chefs created treasures like croissants, tarts, quiches and French cakes. We left the Le Grenier a Pain with fresh baguettes in hand and a true appreciation for the expertise and skill that is needed to make "the perfect baguette".

This area is like the "village" to New Yorkers! Many famous artists like Renoir,  Picasso, and Van Gogh lived and painted here. As we wandered through the streets we could imagine them sitting in a cozy little bistro having coffee.
